![]() Metro Apartment Locators

If you are looking for an apartment in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. There are over 2600 apartment communities with more than 530,000 units throughout the area. You can drive around for a year and not see everything. There are also several magazines devoted to the apartments, but they only contain general information on those properties who choose to advertise in them. However, apartment locators can certainly help you weed through all your choices. These locators are real estate agents, licensed by the state, who work with these apartment communities every day. Therefore, they know what the current rents are, who is running the best specials, who has available units, where the best (and worst!) traffic access is for you, etc. That's what these people do everyday! Let them work for you. And, their service is free to you because the apartment communities pay them a commission for each lease they generate. All you need to do is to contact one of them, spend a few minutes explaining to them what you are looking for, let them weed through all the options, and put their name down on the application when you choose your new home. Although there are hundreds of agents throughout the area, they all use the same information (ours!). Therefore, it is counter-productive for you to work with more than one agent. Choose one that you are happy with and stick with them. If you ever become dissatisfied with the level of service that you are receiving, absolutely choose another agent. Just be sure that both agents are aware of the change. And, DON'T FORGET TO PUT THE LOCATOR'S NAME DOWN ON THE APPLICATION!
